What happend to the "Ask Continue" quick fix option in VSCode?

There's an open issue #7850 but there haven't been any comments from contributors.

I assumed this was some misconfiguration on my part but I've noticed it's missing from all machines I have continue set up on. I didn't realize how often I was relying on this but since its disappearance, I have found I barely use continue anymore.

Is this a bug or an intentional change? If it's a bug, anybody have a workaround?

I just discovered that there is a "Disable Quick Fix" option, so I think this must be a bug and the #7850 above is probably a better place for this. But since there has been no action in that issue from a dev, I'm going to leave this discussion open for visibility 😬
