restart rust-analyzer server from the VS Code terminal

I frequently run cargo update and rust-analyzer falls out of sync. How can I restart rust-analyzer from a bash terminal inside VS code such that I can automatically call it from the same bash function after cargo updates (to save me a click)?

I don't think you can run commands from the VSCode terminal.
