Hello @mikelove, how did you go with the plyxp backend implementation? If there is a PR, I can try to see if I can contribute.

I'm happy to give it a shot. Do you have a suggestion for what operation might make sense to grab and implement with plyxp?

Basically, do you have an idea how to detect when a query will involve full conversion to tibble? Those would be the ones we could pipe into plyxp. If you list some examples of commands we can start seeing if there are low hanging fruit.

It may be tricky for some, because we would have to extract out the row and column operations separately. Let's look at some concrete examples.
