VSCode doesn't suggest auto-imports for linked local library (link:)

Description

When using a local library created with react-native-builder-bob and installed via a relative link: in package.json, VSCode fails to suggest auto-imports for functions/components from the library—even though the code runs and the imports work manually.

• The library is installed as:

  "react-native-awesome-library": "link:../awesome-library"

• Even after pointing to the correct lib/typescript or src path via tsconfig.json, VSCode doesn't detect the exports for suggestions.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create a library using react-native-builder-bob

2. Build it using yarn build (generating lib/typescript)

3. In another project, install the library using:

   "react-native-awesome-library": "link:../awesome-library"

4. In the consuming project:

   • Add to tsconfig.json:

     "paths": {
       "react-native-awesome-library": ["../awesome-library/lib/typescript"]
     }

5. Try to auto-import any exported function/component from the library

Expected Behavior

VSCode should suggest and auto-import symbols from the linked local library as it does for normal packages or local files.

Actual Behavior

• No auto-import suggestions are shown for anything exported by the local library.
• Manual imports work fine and the app compiles correctly.

Troubleshooting Attempted

• ✅ Verified that index.d.ts is present in the lib/typescript folder
• ✅ Added correct paths entry in tsconfig.json pointing to the build output
• ✅ Tried pointing paths to src directly
• ✅ Restarted TypeScript server (Cmd+Shift+P > TypeScript: Restart TS Server)
• ✅ Cleared VSCode cache and reinstalled dependencies
• ✅ Confirmed manual import works without errors
