Skylight - seems unused, can we remove?

SKYLIGHT_AUTHENTICATION is set in ENV in production, but the logs (for Scheduler) all say

2025-08-19T17:14:11.346850+00:00 app[scheduler.4419]: [SKYLIGHT] [6.0.4] Unable to start, see the Skylight logs for more details

So, perhaps we can uninstall the gem, and get rid of that ENV var?

I'm happy to get rid of Skylight, no one is using it AFAIK. Unless someone wants to do some work on the performance side, in that case we can configure it properly and use it. We never gotten around to looking at performance closely.

I'd like to get some performance insights - both in terms of service speech but also how much traffic the site's getting

@matyikriszta do you know if we're paying for Skylight currently?
If so, maybe it makes sense to keep it and get access to it. Otherwise, it should go and we can reinstate it or an alternative when we're ready to go deep on performance (soon).

We are not paying for it currently. AFAIK they do have a free tier for open source projects
