That note in your last sentence is why I’ve held off on implementing this. I'm actually the OP who uses multiple antennas for a single band, and so far I haven’t found any “intelligent” and simple way to switch antennas automatically. That’s why I opened issue #392. Later I implemented the Activity Manager, where you can define not only a Rig profile but also an Antenna profile. So, if you define a suitable profile, you can switch the antenna as well. I know it’s not automatic, but I honestly haven’t come up with anything that would be user-friendly. That said, it doesn’t mean such a solution doesn’t exist — maybe I’m just missing a simple way to do it. |

Ladislav, In my case, I have 2 antennas to choose from for 40m (OCFD and vertical), but only 1 antenna for 30m(dipole), and a hexbeam for higher bands. So I thought the ability to limit antenna choices on a per-band basis might be better than not limiting choices at all. But as you say, it is not a perfect solution. |

Not sure if this idea is of any merit...
If the Antenna Profile tab contained band information per antenna, would it then be possible for QLog to automatically select the correct
MyStation->Antenna based on Rig Frequency?
At the moment QLog just holds the last selected antenna, regardless of what band on the rig is used.
Why? I keep forgetting to set the correct antenna in QLog when logging the QSO after a band change, and end up having to go back and edit my logged QSOs after the fact :-)
Laziness on my part, for sure. But since QLog already handles freq, time, rig, etc., perhaps it could handle antenna selection based on a look-up table as well?
I know there will be situations where an OP would have 2 (or more) antennas available for a given band. No obvious easy way out of that situation, I guess.
