Help connecting Qlog to hamlib

Sorry to bother again, I have installed Hamlib on Linux Xubuntu 24

and it works fine, I can send commands via rigctl to my TS590SG on ttyUSB0.
I also have made a radio configuration on Qlog but I keep receiving connection error, (invalid configuration) everything seems OK, tried to change the port definition adding or removing path with no results. (/dev/ttyUSB0, ttyUSB0 etc.)

Can you share your rigctld command you used? I know on my Mac the port name entered there would be the same as used in rigctld's '-r' command line part. But the settings you used on RigCtl should sort of map directly over to QLog.

Thanks I would think you would have it right then with '/dev/ttyUSB0' in the port name filed. The only thing I would try is to adjust the flow control to hardware. I think by default hamlib uses cts-rts where you have it set to none. Give that a try if you haven't.

Hi Michael, already tried it, being a USB port hardware control isn't used as in a traditional serial port. Let's see if someone else reading here had this issue.

I think I may have found the culprit, it seems like Qlog tries to open serial named "ttyS0" and does not recognize a "ttyUSB0" one. The same happens with GRIG while rigctl works fine on ttyUSB0. If so, how can I make Qlog seeing ttyUSB0 ?

@ik5qlo . I don't know if I understood correctly, but your goal is for QLog to send rigctl commands? If so, then you need to do this:

1. You need to run rigctld (not rigctl). The parameters are the same for both utilities - rigctld is a server part of hamlib, rigctl acks as a client part.
2. In QLog, do not set up rig, but set Hamlib Net Rigctl. Where hostname will be localhost (if you are running it on the same PC)

Tnx Vladisav , my goal is just to make my TS590S talk to Qlog, I tried many times but looks like its a port name issue, I was using rigctl just to test the connection.

1. Hamlib is working fine on ttyUSB0 - I made a radio profile but Qlog still does not see that (configuration error)

2. is it possible that the problem is due to the fact that Qlog tries to open a "ttyS0" port instead the "ttyUSB0" on my system?

3. debuggibg using GRIG as another tool, I see the same error, it tries to open a "ttyS0" even if I used "ttyUSB0" in the command line, so I imagined this can be the same problem with Qlog, thi is a very common problem eg with Arduino boards...

Anyway I will try as you suggested and let you know

UPDATE: As you suggested, using a netted configuration Qlog connected OK! SO I imagine its a serial port issue, but, It works this way and I am grateful for you support!
