📢 Branch Rename Announcement: master → main

Hey everyone 👋

As part of keeping Smart WebView aligned with modern best practices, we’re officially renaming the default branch from master to main before v7.5 release.

🔄 Why the change?

• main is now the industry-standard default.
• GitHub itself defaults to main for all new repositories.
• This helps improve consistency across open source projects and tooling.

✅ What does this mean for you?

• If you haven’t forked or cloned yet – nothing changes, you’re good to go with main.
• If you’ve already forked or cloned the repo, your local and forked branch may still be using master. To sync with the renamed branch:

git branch -m master main
git fetch origin
git branch -u origin/main main
git remote set-head origin -a

If your fork is tracking upstream, make sure to pull from the new main branch:

git fetch upstream
git checkout main
git merge upstream/main

📬 Pull Requests

GitHub will automatically redirect PRs from master to main, but you may see a prompt to confirm or retarget.
