Adding future support for Observations async sequence

I was wondering if the following observations proposal https://github.com/swiftlang/swift-evolution/blob/main/proposals/0475-observed.md was to go-ahead, it would be something that this library would look to support?

For example, given a Person

@Perceptible
final class Person {
  var firstName: String
  var lastName: String
 
  var name: String { firstName + " " + lastName } 
}

You could then observe the computed property

let names = Perception.Observations { person.firstName + " " + person.lastName }
for await name in names {
    print(name)
}

We definitely would like to take any improvements made in Observation and back-port them here, it's just a matter of time. If any folks are interested in coordinating and PRing, let us know! Otherwise we hope to get to it sometime soon.

May I also suggest adding a Combine publisher? It would help with porting from @Published which has $myPublishedVar

Hi @aehlke, we currently do not want to add tools to this library that do not exist in the regular Observation library of Swift. If you need a publisher you should be able to write a tool for that outside the library.

You could also first migrate to use the $myPublishedVar.values async sequence, and then when you migrate your ObservableObject to @Observable you can swap it for Perceptions { … }.
