Description
BOY, Data Browser, alarm GUI, … support submitting logbook entries or sending emails. Some include a screenshot of the respective display or plot. Users can add additional images by selecting an image file, add a screenshot of CS-Studio, or a screenshot of the complete display.
Turns out what users (at least SNS operators) really like to do quite often is add a screenshot of some other partial window: Not the whole CS-Studio window, nor the complete display, but some section of some window.
For now this means: Start another screenshot program (gimp, ksnapshot, …), take screenshot in there, save as file, then locate that file when creating the logbook entry or email.
It would be really, really very convenient to streamline this.
Ideas:
Add a button "Section of Screen" to the logbook and email dialog for snapping a rectangular section of the screen.
Or add a "Crop" feature to the list-of-images in the logbook dialog, so users can take a complete screenshot as already offered, but then crop that to the section of interest before submitting.
