Ability to get the index of selected element in combo widget #384
Description
It would quite useful to be able to get the index of the selected element in a combo widget.
Although that could be done in a script by getting the combo's text and then mapping it to 1, 2, 3... and write it to your PV with pv.setValue(), this would force the developer to hardcode the content of the combo in the script.
The ideal solution would be to have a getIndex() method to retrieve the index directly.
