After modifiying all entries group and clicking "reassign all entries" autosave backup is triggered for each entry

I have a sample db with ~2000 entries and two subgroups.

1. Right click Edit Group "all entries"
2. Click OK
3. Click OK in the dialog asking for reassign
   
4. Look in the debug log:
5. Notice that JabRef starts lagging and is near to freeze until the save actions are finished

Is this reassign necessary for all group entries?

Every change triggers an backup/autosave. If a backup operation triggered by a recent change is not yet completed, then the new backup is skipped (as the above log suggests). Not sure what we should improve here.
