Prerequisites

  • Python 3.8+
  • Django 3.2+
  • PostgreSQL (or another preferred database)

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/Neural-Dynamics-Web/sample-project-crm
    cd sample-project-crm
  2. Create and activate a virtual environment:

    python3 -m venv venv
    source venv/bin/activate  # On Windows use `venv\Scripts\activate`
  3. Install the dependencies:

    pip install -r requirements.txt
  4. Set up the database:

    Ensure PostgreSQL is installed and create a database for the project.

    createdb crm_db
  5. Configure environment variables:

    Create a .env file in the project root and add the following:

    SECRET_KEY=your_secret_key
    DEBUG=True
    DATABASE_URL=postgres://username:password@localhost:5432/crm_db
  6. Run migrations:

    python manage.py migrate
  7. Create a superuser:

    python manage.py createsuperuser
  8. Run the development server:

    python manage.py runserver

Configuration

Adjust the settings in settings.py as needed, especially for database configurations, static files, and any third-party services.

Usage

  1. Access the admin panel:

    Open your browser and go to http://127.0.0.1:8000/admin/ to log in with your superuser credentials.

  2. Create and manage projects:

    Use the admin panel to create new projects, define stages, assign tasks, and manage finances.

  3. User roles and permissions:

    Set up different user roles and permissions to control access to various parts of the CRM system.

  4. Generate reports:

    Utilize the reporting features to gain insights into project progress, task completion, and financial status.
