##Controlled Vocabulary Management

These thoughts stem from work on Whatsynoname. Could have one thesaurus with the following columns, managed in a Fusion Table:

vocabulary_for, value, synonym, source, purpose, language

vocabulary_for - the property for which the value is a possible value

value - the valid value for the property

synonym - a version that might be seen in the real world that means the same thing as the value for the property

source - the authority from which the synonym originates

purpose - the use for which the synonym was intended

language - the language for the synonym

So, the DwC alias vocabulary (in CSV form) would look like this:

vocabulary_for, value, synonym, purpose, source, language http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/acceptedNameUsage, acceptedNameUsage, acceptedNameUsage, name, http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc, en http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/acceptedNameUsage, acceptedNameUsage, Accepted Name Usage, label, GBIF, en http://rs.tdwg.org/dwc/terms/acceptedNameUsage, acceptedNameUsage, anu, alias, VertNet, en

The simplest vocabularies would have just one row per value, with the value and synonym equal.
