bugfix: enable compatibility for newer kernel API

The current Linux kernel version is 6.11. Have you checked compatibility with versions later than 6.0? I'm not sure what other changes we need to make to ensure compatibility with the latest kernel version.

I have tested compatibility only with version 6.8-rc4, and after this change it is working.

I believe this API change affects newer versions above 6.4.0, and I found some references about it:
