React native apps crash in any editable text field when tapping on a emoji in the suggestion bar in gboard

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install gboard on your mobile device (a lot of devices come with this default keyboard, but for devices that don't, the keyboard can be installed on both iOS and android)
2. Go to Settings on the device and select gboard as the default keyboard
3. There's also an option in the gboard's preferences to show emoji suggestions and it has to be turned on
4. Open any react native app and tap in any editable text field
5. Type a word that's going to suggest an emoji (like for example star will suggest a star emoji, beer will suggest a beer emoji, etc.)
6. Tap on the emoji in the suggestion bar

Expected Behavior

• The emoji is inputted as text with no further outcome

Actual Behavior

• React native apps crash in any editable text field when tapping on a emoji in the suggestion bar in gboard (google keyboard)
