Not a Cordova-based project

On the getting started page (http://ionicframework.com/getting-started/) when I checkout any template project and try adding a platform from projects root directory it gives and error saying "Not a Cordova-based project". If I am not wrong it creates a base-master directory so I need to cd in that directory and then add a platform

Did you use the ionic tool to do ionic start myApp template?

Ya I used ionic start myApp tabs . It basically checks out repository inside ionic-app-base-master and it also has ionic.project file in the root.

@adityavyas Can you provide a screenshot ? It seems to be working fine when the commands like

$ ionic platform add ios

is run.

Are you sure you have cordova installed globally (-g) ?

@sudheesh001 Yes I do have cordova installed globally. If you see in the screenshot I have a folder called ionic-app-base-master inside my myApp folder.

Can you show the contents ls -al of the ionic-app-base-master. I don't understand why there is no download from driftyco/ionic-starter-tabs after downloading the ionic-app-base. If everything goes well, you should see something like this

Got the same issue, I simply removed the ios folder under platform, perform the ionic platform add ios command again, and it worked !
