I'm going to answer the most common question first...

What the hell are all these ZIS files?

ZIS files are ZIP files. They generally contain Zone Forecast Products, Area Forecast Discussions, or METAR observations. Just unzip them!

TXT files

Plain text. Most of the products you'll see are distributed in this format.

JPG, GIF images

There are several images in the EMWIN feed. They include SPC Day1/Day2 outlooks, regional and national radar mosaics, surface analyses and QPF graphics.
