up-to-date splunk setup pages examples

Would you be considering the addition of more standard setup pages in the future? I'm particularly interested in seeing more accessible examples that include Python, maybe js and avoid non-prod libraries like promisify. Currently, as non-developer, I found it challenging to create simple applications with the setup page - in one splunk instance it works, and in another it doesn't for no reason. Any plans to expand the documentation with more beginner-friendly examples would be greatly appreciated.
