No sure what u18+ is but otherwise LGTM :-)

On Ubuntu 18.04.5: starts without crashing 👍
On Debian 10.9: Prints the following to stderr and crashes:

Hmm that is about the same stdout/stderr I get when running it on my ubuntu 20 and I don't see anything there not related to fonts. I'll create a separate ticket to investigate debian.
