when run `git ls-remote --exit-code . origin/gh-pages` on versions of git older than 1.9. It will show errors: "fatal: attempt to fetch/clone from a shallow repository. …”

Thanks for the contribution, and apologies for the delay in getting it in. Ironically, I found this when googling for the same error message after finally getting around to writing integration tests for this repo. |
