Weird "The label does not exist" error on an existing bibtex entry

Description

This is actually a Heisenbug that I noticed long time ago (circa February), but I wasn't able to create a minimal example. It's also a weird one, where an error is totally unrelated to edits being made that somehow resolve it or break things apart. Even a newline or a #v can trigger an error or fix it. Also, the error happens on the web view. The standalone compiler does fine.

The issue looks like a series of "label does not exist" errors:

The labels are in fact mentions of bibtex entries that do, obviously, exist and were not changed at all during the edits.

I have no other option than to link to the whole project and not a minimal example. Since the paper in question was recently published on arXiv, I am now able to link to its sources.

The errors are triggered when main-en.typ, or chapters-en/advantages.typ is 👁️-ed.

I suspect it might be an issue with the web app's error panel. I have seen other errors remain past them being fixed before but don't currently know the cause.

Is there a workaround? I tried everything but the only thing that worked to me was to catch the moment when it happens and undo the last change. It was very deterministic for me. The same change always reproduced the error, so I doubt it has something to do with the error panel. Also, by 👁️ -ing different files, different sets of errors can be produced. Yet, they always match the links inside the file.

Honestly it's really frustrating when suddenly you can't proceed with your work 😕

If you preview a single chapter that does not contain the bibliography by itself, it is expected that there will be an error. The eye is only intended to select the main file of the project, not to select an individual file that does not compile in isolation. That's akin to writing typst compile chapters-en/advantages.typ locally which does not work either.
